Hairui's Tomb

We visited During Night time, But I will suggest you to visit it in morning time so that you can see those carving and monuments which are closed during night time , But we had a great time there .

Hairui Cemetery was built in the 17th year of Ming Wanli (1589), and the emperor sent Xu Ziwei to Hainan to supervise the construction. Hairui tomb is 115 meters long from north to south, 41 meters wide from east to west, and is made of granite. Three stone archways and stone carvings are built in front of the tomb. The tomb is hexagonal and the top of the tomb is conical. A stone monument is erected in front of the tomb, and the monument is 4 meters high, and Xu Ziwei book is written as "Huangming Funeral Zishan Doctor Nanjing Duchayuan, the right side of the imperial history to give Prince Xiaobao Zhongjie Haigong Tomb". There is a display hall nearby. The blue gray stone archway at the gate of the cemetery is engraved with 4 red characters "Guangdong Zhengqi". A wide Mashi Avenue leads directly to the base from the archway. There are stone sheep, stone horses, stone lions, stone people on both sides of the ramp, or standing or sitting or lying, lifelike. A stone turtle in front of the tomb occupies the road. The mausoleum pattern is similar to the Yue grave in Hangzhou, but on a slightly smaller scale. There are stone tables, stone platforms, five railings, stone-masonry round graves. The grave diameter is 1． 6 meters, and the height is 2． 6 meters. The stone tablet in front of the tomb is inscribed with 30 words "Ming Emperor Funeral Zishan Doctor South Kyoto Chayuan, the right-hand side of the Imperial History, Prince Xiaobao, and Zhongjie Haigong Tomb". The monument is 4 meters high, 0． 8 meters wide, and 10 cm thick, which was the original object when the tomb was built 400 years ago.

There is a stone archway at the entrance of Hairui Tomb, and the front of the square is inscribed with four large words "Guangdong Zhengqi"; the tomb road is flanked by stone sheep, stone horses, stone lions, stone turtles and stone Wengzhong; on the south side of the tomb, there is a tombstone about three meters high. In front of the tombstone, five incense candlesticks and a large table are placed.

To Haikou, you must hang the ancient Qingguan Hairui, which is revered by the world. The solemn and quaint "Guangdong Zhengqi" stone archway in the cemetery is an iconic attraction. The symmetrical stone carvings on both sides of the tombway are also very interesting. In addition, the exhibition hall and garden sculptures detail the deeds of Hairui's life. This time, wash the mind.

It is a pity that the tomb of a generation of loyal servants was destroyed in that turbulent era. The tomb is now reconstructed. It is said that only the tombstone is the original object, and the rest have been destroyed. There are few tourists here, it is recommended to have time to see.
