Metro Manila
Manila
Manila is the capital city of the Philippines. New and old are interwoven with each other in this city which integrates eastern and western culture. Because it was once ruled by Spain, this place has quite the southwestern European atmosphere. Manila has a forest of skyscrapers. Its many streets and churches hold a hundred years of history, as well as gardens, alleys and byways full of blooming flowers. Downtown Manila is an excellent place to appreciate the city’s Spanish style. The Manila Cathedral, or Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, San Augustin Church and the Casa Manila museum are all located in the city. You can take a horse-drawn carriage tour around to visit them. Manila Bay, especially the waterfront Roxas Boulevard, is a beautiful place from which to watch the sunset. You also visit some places in the suburban outskirts of Manila, such as Tagatai to hike up the volcano or Pagsanjan to take part in exciting activities like rafting.

_FB***60we need not travel far frommanila have an adventure. Located in the heart of Old Manila, Intramuros Manila (“within the walls” when translated literally from Spanish) is one of the Philippines’ biggest cultural and historical landmarks. The Walled City and its famous citadel Fort Santiago were the seat of government during the Spanish colonial period. Now, it is still very much a living, breathing city with universities, government offices, banks, hotels, and restaurants—and it is well worth the visit. The best part is you can enjoy most parts of Intramuros Manila without breaking the bank!

Gloria DivaStill widely known as 'Luneta' (its name until the 1950s), Manila’s iconic central park is spread out over some 60 hectares of open lawns, ornamental gardens, ponds, paved walks and wooded areas, dotted with monuments to a whole pantheon of Filipino heroes. As the place where José Rizal was executed by the Spanish colonial authorities, it's also of great historical significance.
