Hakka Town Scenic Area in Hakka World Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The rich natural landscape and the perfect combination of vivid human landscape make the Meizhou guest world unique. Strolling between the streets where the Eastern civilization and the Western culture coexist, you can enjoy the scenery of the pavilions and the bridges.
Walk in the world of Meizhou, the quaint architectural style, the religious cultural corridor, is particularly charming in the bright sunshine.
It is surrounded by green trees, and the red eaves are accompanied by white houses and a European town style. In addition, the waterfalls are everywhere, elegant and full of life.
Meizhou Tourism
I have always wanted to explore some unknown places in Guangdong, and this time I chose Meizhou—the capital of Hakka as my destination! We mainly visited the Meijiang District, and did not go to other places.
🚗Transportation: We chose to set off early on Saturday morning and took a ride-sharing service to get there. It takes about two and a half hours to depart from Huizhou (a bit far, with round-trip road expenses of about 200💰 per person).
🏠Accommodation: We chose to stay in the Ketianda scenic area, where the environment is very good, giving people a sense of full of health. The accommodation area is very large! We chose Yueyun Meisu, which costs about 170💰 per night, and the environment feels very nice. Downstairs is the Venice Water City, which is very convenient for taking pictures☺😍.
👀Sightseeing:
Day1: Ketianda Scenic Area - Night Tour of Hakka Town - Venice Water City Photo Shoot Because we set off on Saturday morning, we arrived at around two o'clock in the afternoon. After a short rest at the hotel, we decided to go for a night tour of Ketianda. The evening ticket is about 30 per person, and you need to climb some slopes to enter the scenic area. The layout inside is full of Chinese style, and it is very appropriate to wear Hanfu for photos👍🏻. There is a performance at around 8 o'clock in the evening, but it was a bit boring for us, so we suggest going to Venice Water City for photos in advance, as the architecture there is very distinctive. 🔻Please be sure to note the lighting off time of Venice Water City, go early! Otherwise, the photo effect may be compromised🥲 I missed that beautiful moment😭 The lights were turned off at around 9 o'clock in the evening (; ̄O ̄).
Day2: Meizhou Old Street - Xuegong - Hakka Museum - Keduhui
How can you miss the old street when you come to Meizhou! The arcade buildings here are very similar to those in Guangzhou, with a unique atmosphere. There is also a Xuegong in the old street, which you can visit along the way. Although it is small, it is worth a visit🙂.
The Hakka Museum is very interesting, and you can learn about the history of the Hakka people. There is also a square outside the museum, and opposite are some residential buildings, which feel very magical. There are also many children riding bicycles and playing, and the sports heroes of Meizhou are really energetic💪.
Before we were ready to leave, we sat in Keduhui for a while, and there was a snack stall to fill our stomachs.
🫕Food:
✅ Meizhou pickled noodles, ordered the highest-selling takeaway, taste much better than the pickled noodles at school! Also tried some bamboo shoots, all very good👌, feel like whatever you order is delicious😋. ✅ Heard that the Hongwu Snowflake Ice Room on the old street is very classic, must try it, I casually ordered one, the taste is really great! The slush is very finely made, and the taste of coconut milk is also very rich! I also ordered a sour plum ice, which is simply a blessing for sour plum fans😚😚🥰. ✅ Jīnshān beef offal is really different from the usual kind, it is cold, chewy, and you can taste the aroma by chewing slowly. Eating it with sticky white vinegar and hot and sour sauce is very distinctive, I highly recommend it!
📋Notes: 🔻Definitely do not buy food in the Ketianda scenic area, the prices are expensive and the quality is poor, it is very easy to be ripped off! The food is also very unpalatable❌, for example, a pack of instant noodles is sold for 30💨. 🔻If you want to take photos in Venice Water City, go early, otherwise you will regret missing the lighting effect🥲. 🔻Staying in the Meijiang District is more convenient, it is also the main urban area, with more choices. 🔻If time permits, you can experience the full ticket of Ketianda, the daytime scenic area should be more interesting. 🔻The happy town of Venice Water City does not have a large flow of people, suitable for just taking photos as a souvenir.
Meizhou Hakka World, a place you would want to visit again after the first trip
Meizhou Hakka World, this place full of surprises and fun, is simply irresistible! 😍 It features a heart-pounding glass bridge🌉 and a jungle zip-line coaster🚜, with tickets priced at around 120 yuan, including shuttle bus service, 🚍 making it easy to reach your destination. Here, you can enjoy the thrill and fun to your heart's content, experiencing the grandeur and mystery of nature.
Right next to Hakka World is an exotic Venice Mall🏰. The unique architectural style here makes you feel as if you are in a European town. Friends who love taking photos should not miss this! 📸 Every snapshot is a masterpiece, instantly igniting your social circle! Inside the mall, there is also a dreamy castle, allowing you to easily take photos as if you have traveled abroad, satisfying your photography desires.
🚗 Regarding transportation:
Visitors from other places can choose to take the high-speed train🚅 directly to Meizhou West Station. After exiting the station, it's just a short taxi ride🚖 of about ten minutes to reach Hakka World. Additionally, there are electric scooters🛵 available at the high-speed train exit, which you can scan and ride through the streets and alleys of Meizhou, experiencing the local customs and beautiful scenery. Riding an electric scooter, feel the unique charm of Meizhou, making your trip even more colorful!🌈
The sun shines on the spire of the European church. This kind of picture often appears on the cover of various travel magazines. It enters the artistic street of the Venetian-style town in the world, and the flowers are open at the roadside.
even a stray cat yawning on the stone steps, you can forget the existence of time, it seems to be the perfect dream.

Meizhou | Spring Outing to Qiaoxi's Ancient Charm, Revisiting the Hakka Ancient Houses
Spring Outing to Qiaoxi's Ancient Charm, Revisiting the Hakka Ancient Houses. Adjacent to Meizhou's 5A-rated scenic spot 'Yannanfei', there lies an ancient Hakka village called 'Qiaoxi Ancient Charm'. It is also an unmissable destination when visiting Meizhou, where a dozen Hakka ancient houses built during the Ming and Qing dynasties stand, telling visitors the stories of the centuries past.
On this trip, I entered the Jishan Building for the third time in seven years. The increasingly well-organized area around the Jishan Building allows us to get closer to it and understand its architectural culture from a distance. Every time I pass through this north-facing, south-facing building, I am amazed as if it were my first visit at its ingeniously arranged layout. Because it consists of seven rows of multi-story horizontal houses, with public areas on the ground floor and residences above, these seven spaces are connected by five gates to form a whole structure, and with its central axis symmetry, it is also known as the 'Seven-Bar Building' and 'He-Bar Building'. Rarely seen carvings and paintings that have withstood the passage of time still use various artistic techniques to interpret the glory of the past. They include exquisitely carved woodwork, lifelike colored sculptures, and captivating murals... Higher up from the Jishan Building is the Baoshan Building. Walking up the path to the Baoshan Building, I found that the wood and pottery carvings here are also very well preserved, different yet harmonious with the Jishan Building, and also worth savoring,
This visit to the Qiaoxi Ancient Charm Hakka ancient residential cluster, the experience of the old and new interchanging, has formed my new memories of this place.
The ancient charm of Qiaoxi, a hundred-year-old residential house
Meizhou·Guangdong Qiaoxi ancient charm
The morning in Meizhou naturally starts with a bowl of pickled noodles, accompanied by beef and pork offal, the red soup of the fifth and the first scares the old and delights the children, in fact, the orange-yellow noodles are chewy and delicious with a strong aroma.
Roaming without having to worry too much about time and distance, roughly pinching the east to visit the Qiaoxi ancient charm at the foot of Yinna Mountain where the geese fly south, when the tea gardens emerge layer by layer, winding and turning in the dense and light green peaks, a clear stream slowly flows out of the mountain.
The sky is slightly cloudy, and there are no birds singing. There are many mountain tea and magnolia planted along the way, and occasionally a cherry blossom peach and plum bloom brightly. There are occasional white flowers of deep mountain smiles by the stream.
The stream flowing under the Ren Shou Bridge makes the children jump for joy. I and the old people are looking for the site of Lingyun Pavilion. The bumpy and smooth mountain stone road records the traces of the years. The grass in the grass leaves only broken walls and ruins, and the past prosperity has disappeared.
The old man Zhu of Baoshan Building has white beard and black hair, half squatting to cut vegetables and feed chickens, a few chats and then gets up to dry the golden cherry, usually taking care of the beehives lined up on the hillside, guarding the old house of his ancestors and spending the years of the mountain village.
The Hakka houses built by the mountain blend traditional and Western styles, most of them are empty, the children's love for natural scenery far exceeds the appreciation of exquisite architecture, a section of dead branches and a grasshopper are happy and laughing, against the stream, the scenery of spring valley and summer valley is different.
🏡Location: Qiaoxi Village, 224 Provincial Road, Yanyang Town, Meixian District
🎫Tickets: Free
🚙Transportation: Self-driving (about forty kilometers from the city) Parking is convenient
👣Tour: Visiting the ancient village is suitable for self-driving, with beautiful natural scenery along the way, layered tea gardens, lush trees and gurgling streams. There are occasional relics to explore along the way, and the blooming flowers are particularly reminiscent of the ancient feelings.
Qiaoxi Village is the first batch of ancient villages in China. It has been built from the Ming Dynasty to the present. The descendants have mostly gone abroad to make a living. After returning to their hometown, they have made great efforts to build. It is estimated that there is another combination of Chinese and Western works in this typical Hakka ancient residence.
Roaming in the village, you can appreciate these hundred-year-old ancient buildings and listen to the old people tell their history. Baoshan Building Baoyuan Jishan Building Shidetang is large in scale, with carved beams and painted pillars combining Chinese and Western styles, showing the style of overseas Chinese businessmen.
Surrounded by mountains, the tea fragrance is clear, looking back at the ancient houses, either by the mountain or by the water, the mountain path is hidden and connected in between.
Guangdong Attractions - Meizhou Qiaoxi Ancient Town
Qiaoxi Ancient Charm, located in Qiaoxi Village, 4 kilometers east of Changjiao Village, Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, 38 kilometers away from Meicheng City.
The village is named after its natural landscape - small bridges, streams, ancient trees and houses, which together constitute a beautiful picture of Hakka pastoral scenery. Qiaoxi Village was first discovered and settled by the Chen and Zhu families during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (about 400 years ago), and then they multiplied and thrived, forming the current scale of the village.
The entire village covers an area of about 1 square kilometer, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a strong Hakka cultural atmosphere.
The ancient rhyme of Qiaoxi, a village where people can hear their names, is located in Qiaoxi Village, Yanyang Town, Meizhou. It is a Hakka Mountain Village with a small bridge, a stream and an ancient dwelling. Only after entering the scenic spot, the entrance is full of green. Under the greenery that can wash the tired body, you can see the quiet and peaceful village. This fresh and pleasant scenery makes people irresistibly take steps and speed up the pace. Discover the charm of the village.
Ancient residential architecture is a major feature of the ancient rhyme of Qiaoxi. Here, you can see many buildings with Hakka surrounding houses. They are mostly gray and white, simple and simple, yet elegant and elegant. Up to now, the village has retained more than ten Hakka traditional residential buildings built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is precisely because of these chronological buildings that the bridge village appears to be full of charm, and the tourists in it can not help but be infected by the tranquility of the years.
Among these buildings, the most worth mentioning is the Jishan Building, which is known as the Bridge Creek Village Business Card. This is a typical column-type Hakka enclosure. It was built by the Zhus overseas Chinese in the village. It was started in the 28th year of the Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty. It was completed in 12 years. It is conceivable that the difficulty of its construction is How big and how grand the scale is after the completion of the construction.

From Meizhou, Guangdong, comes a forest-style travel photography that is niche and high-end.
Often friends ask me why my photos are always so clean and beautiful, and without crowds of people. The answer is as follows:
📷Tips for taking beautiful photos:
One is to travel off-peak, and try not to join the crowd during busy times;
Secondly, it is important to understand the shooting location in advance and coordinate the clothing accordingly. In situations where it is difficult to decide or there are multiple scenes, a white dress is generally a safe choice with a high success rate in the final photos.
The third thing is to be quick with your eyes. When you're moving the camera, your brain should already have a picture of the person and scenery in the same frame, and quickly press the shutter button to capture the most vivid moment!
📷Camera position sharing for travel photography scenes:
So where is a good place to choose for travel photography scenes? Come to the Yan Nan Fei Scenic Area in Meizhou, Guangdong for a forest-themed, niche and high-end travel photography experience! Any scene is perfect and can be photographed for half a day!
1⃣️ Tea fields
2️⃣️ Bamboo Sea
3️⃣️. Four Seasons Flower Sea
4️⃣️, Yan'e Lake shore
5️⃣️ Lemon Eucalyptus Avenue
6️⃣️ The big banyan tree by the swimming pool.
No one will reject the beauty. In the wilderness, call for the fresh air with the aroma of the vegetation, wash your heart and wash your lungs!
Yan Nanfei, located in Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou, is very poetic.
Yannanfei Scenic Area includes: Yannan Feishen Stone, Yannanfei Avenue, Visitor Center and Tea House, Tea Show, Conference Center, Wailong Hotel, Wailong Restaurant, Xiaoyijiang Lake Waterfall, Longna Mountain Eco Valley, Xian Tea Court, Superior Villa District.
Through the tea garden, returning to nature, the fatigue caused by the busy work on weekdays disappears instantly. The
resort integrates tourism, tea planting and leisure and holiday, and is the habitat of urban people. I especially like the beautiful natural scenery and slow life here.
Yannanfei planted white leaves in a single vertical, 163 hectares of standardized tea fields under the foothills of Yinna Mountain in Meizhou, absorbing the essence of the sun and the moon, as if even the land is full of tea. In order to better tea party and tea, Yan Nanfei introduced more than 800 kinds of tea trees from abroad, built a tea processing factory, set up a tea research institute, and built a tea brand of Yannanfei. The circular dragon is no longer a soil house, but a more solid and easy to preserve masonry material. This kind of dragon building pursues the characteristics of centripetality, symmetry and low front and high height. The internal space is often in the form of gossip to achieve the pattern of heaven, earth and humanity. The Hakka architecture pays attention to the feng shui of Jiqing. There are 32 tables in the banquet hall of the Wailong Restaurant, and the large dome on the right side of the enclosure is made up of 99,999 pieces of bamboo tubes. The Wailong Hotel, which is connected to a corridor by the Wailong Restaurant, is also a semi-circular dragon structure. It is built according to the anti-dragon structure of Hakka House. There are three floors in the lobby and 138 rooms, each with celebrities. Poetry and celebrity maxims are full of pastoral atmosphere. When I stayed at the Wailong Hotel and pushed the windows of the Yangtai Terrace, I found that I was looking up and down. In the distance, except for others, it was a tea tree. The mountains were quiet and quiet, and the world was vast, like I was alone. Just waiting for the spring to warm up, when you start collecting tea, it must be another lively scene.

Nankou Village in Meizhou, Guangdong, is home to the splendid Huan Yun Building
The Huan Yun Building was founded in 1927, funded by overseas Chinese from the Hakka community. It is a Western European Baroque-style building modeled after a certain dance hall in Singapore. However, due to the outbreak of the war of aggression by Japan, remittances from overseas Chinese were cut off, and imported materials could not be transported, leading to the suspension of the building's construction.
The Huan Yun Building features a basic layout of a hall with lateral houses and a Western-style facade. The interior has more halls and fewer rooms, with relatively large spaces such as atriums, courtyards, and halls; the roof is flat; the facade and exterior walls are embellished with Western architectural elements like verandas, gatehouses, arches, and columns. Overall, the Huan Yun Building showcases a rich variety of spatial changes and decorative language, fully reflecting the collision, exchange, and integration of Chinese and Western architectural cultures. It can be said that the new materials, technologies, and styles introduced by the overseas Chinese played a significant role in the design and construction of the Huan Yun Building.

The buildings in the ancient town combine Hakka, Western and other architectural styles. The architectural style of Jiangnan Huipai can be seen in the details of some thresholds.
Baihou Ancient Town is one of the most ancient towns in Lingdong, and even the whole of Guangdong. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were 5 Hanlin, 23 Jinshi and 134 Wenwu. "The same hall seven Kui", "the same list of three Jinshi", "one belly three Hanlin" is a legendary story.
Baihou Ancient Town was born to the sea in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. This is the reason why a large number of Chinese and Western architectures coexist harmoniously in the ancient town.
The merchant who sent the goods, the first thing to do when returning to his hometown is to build a road and build a large mansion.

# Into the guest Meizhou # , not the same taste. From winter to autumn, I walked from the beginning of the year to the end of the year and returned to here. In the time of change, some are very fast, some are very slow. When you come to this ancient village in Baihou Ancient Town, you have clearly seen the changes in the season, but still feel as if nothing has changed. The years are quiet, look at the front of the door that is a leisurely lazy year, looking up at the blue sky. Say to yourself, I hope to go further, but don't go too fast, don't forget the initial heart of the departure, you can really slow down.
