Arc de Triomphe Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
A Day Trip to Montpellier
Spent my day without school on a quick trip to Montpellier. We went there via bus for just 11 euros.
We visited the tourist spots around the city, but was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. I thought there would be more to see, or perhaps was it because it was inter?
Overall, still had fun and ate amazing food with great company.
Does anyone have some recommendations on things to do in Montpellier?#southoffrance #Montpellier

Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe is one of the Paris icons, the symbol of France's capital, located at Charles de Gaulle, at the end of Champ Elysse Boulevard.
Napoleon built this monument in 1806 to celebrate various victories of the French army under Napoleon.
The height of the tower is 45 meters; visitors can have access to the top of the building with ticket to enjoy the panorama view of Paris.

Visit the Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier.
Visit the Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier.
Montpellier Triumphal Arch, also known as Perou Gate, is located at the eastern end of Perou Garden near the city center. The reliefs on the arch display the four major events during the reign of Louis XIV. The surrounding park area is also conveniently located in the city center, next to the metro station.
Next to the Peiru Garden, there is a tall commemorative building. Two rows of trees stand neatly on both sides of the avenue. On the other side of the park, located on a high ground, you can see half of the city from here. On the other side of the monument, there is also an abandoned waterway. Under the stone building are beautiful arch bridges one after another. Occasionally, some small markets are held here, and local vendors sell some small trinkets. Both the park and the Arc de Triomphe are free to visit, just make sure to check the opening and closing times in advance. The Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier is much smaller than the one in Paris. The underground is a road paved with ancient bricks, and cars can drive in the middle. Unlike the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, it is not possible to make an appointment to enter the interior of the Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier. As a landmark building, it also attracts a large number of tourists. The Peiru Garden and the Arc de Triomphe are located in the city center and are not far from the art museum and botanical garden.

A MUST SEE during a first trip to Paris! Be sure to use the underground walkway to walk aroundthe monument. Don't try to cross the insane traffic circling the Arch!!! Great to see, got our picture, it is one of those must see if you are there. We didnt go to the top as there was a queue, but it is just as impressive a monument from the ground. It's location at the top of the Champs Elysee makes a visit all the more worthwhile.

An aesthetic city in south of France. It offer you a great vibe along with a beach nearby. The city is accessible by feet. The city centre is very well organised. It is absolutely different from the rest of French cities. You can see a lot of tourist around the city centre. It is also a student city so you can access a lot of affordable bars with great crowd. A must visit city for explorers.

Visit Montpellier Botanical Garden.
Visit Montpellier Botanical Garden.
Montpellier is located in the south of France. The climate here is pleasant, and as a city of sunshine, it is also very suitable for plant growth. The botanical garden is located next to the city center, with convenient transportation, and can be reached directly by tram. The entire botanical garden is free to visit, no appointment is needed, and the entrance is located near the street.
Here is full of many tropical plants, with simple signs next to them as introductions. There are some simple sculptures in the botanical garden, which complement each other with tall green plants and create a unique scenery. The botanical garden in Montpellier is a bit simple, more like a large park than a botanical garden. It is not big here, and it can be visited in one hour. There are bamboo forests, palm trees, various potted plants, and fewer tourists usually come here, making it suitable for a short rest on a bench. As it is very close to other attractions in the city center, the Montpellier Triumphal Arch is next to it and can be visited on the way. The botanical garden has a dedicated person for regular pruning, and the overall plants and shrubs are well taken care of, giving a feeling of some private gardens.
