Narita International Airport Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
🇯🇵 Narita airport paid facilities
There are paid lounges and paid shower for all the transit and departing passengers at Narita Airport terminal. This is very important for passengers especially when the flight time is long and need a place to rest properly. Most of the airport facilities here are available to all paying passengers so as long you are willing to pay then you can use it. I did not see business lounge here but there are also plenty of cafe and areas for use if you need to work. The wifi is free and efficient and streaming of movies is ok too.

🇯🇵 Keisei Line Train to Airport
An efficient train line from both Narita and Haneda airport which go into Tokyo. It will take slightly more than an hour using this Keisei Main line. It connects directly to another subway line without the need to get off the train too. This is also a cheaper alternative and efficient if your hotel is along this train line. IT is also better if you can plan your timing and sync with the hotel check in and check out timing. Sometimes when the train get too crowded, it will be difficult to board with your luggage. In this case, you can use the luggage forward system and send it to your hotel then you can explore the city before you check in.

🇯🇵 Rest & Relax at Narita airport
Within the transit area in Narita airport, you can find plenty of space and resting areas. There is no need to spend money at a transit hotel. There are plenty of lounge chairs within the transit area for long layover. There are also water coolers and many vending machines too. If you are hungry, you also can get hot food from the eateries during their operational hours. You can even get a massage with the best views here along the airport runway. The views are better in the day compared to a night. During night time, the windows will have more reflections from the outside.

🇯🇵 Zip Air to Tokyo
Konnichiwa Japan lovers and Sugoi! Now you can have Zip air to zip you into Tokyo Narita airport at berry affordable prices.
My round trip from Singapore to Tokyo Narita was about $400+ with 23kg and 32kg check in luggage included respectively. I also paid extra to choose my seats and pre-ordered a meal too. The seats are spacious, and you will not even feel squash ever again. Did I also mention the on-board wifi is free? Yes, it is free, and you can just follow the wifi instruction and get connected.
Being a Japanese airline, they can be quite strict on the hand carry luggage so please do not exceed 7kg because the staff might check on the weight. If you need extra hand carry weight, then you can pre-purchase it.
As for the check in luggage, Zip air goes by piece concept even if you are flying within Asia. This means that if you have 32kg check in luggage allowance, you can only check in 1 piece of luggage weighing 32kg maximum.

Narita San
My original plan was just to go Aeon Mall to do food hunting. End up I was joining my colleagues to Narita San and we rent Kimono and do photoshoot around the area. We also try the local dessert such as fried rice ball and mochi matcha ice cream. It was delicious! Most of the local people thought I was japanese haha. These are some of the photos that we took on my one day trip in Narita. Cheers!
Short Trip @Narita nearby Airport
#dreamdestination For the people who are traveling to Japan or transiting at Narita Airport, Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is the best destination that it can’t be miss. Wonderful temple with wonderful vibes. And just take 30 minutes from the Airport so you can visit here before you travel back or just for transition if you have time more than 5 hrs for transition. My trip this time just take time around 6 hrs including travel to the airport and checking in to immigration.
Perfect trip for a day stopover
#tokyotrip
For my last day in Tokyo, I decided to stay near the airport the last night. To my delight and totally unplanned I discovered that there was a beautiful temple and park within 18 minutes walking distance of my hotel.
Naritasan Shinshoji is a beautiful temple and I had a great time walking around to explore
It’s an easy walk from the nearest station and lots of shops/restaurants to eat and shop.
Highly recommended to check this temple out if you’re looking for something to do on the way to the Narita airport.

9 Hours Capsule Hotel - My Review
I’ve always wanted to experience the capsules in Japan and I sort of stumbled on this one. It was right at the Narita Airport Terminal.
Business Hours: 24 hours
BAmbiance/Facilities: locker room, bathroom, toilet, capsule pod
Reasons to Recommend: located in the airport so if you’ve got an early flight, this one’s a no brainer.
Dislikes: felt stuffy, could barely sleep, the room felt like a spaceship devoid of life.

Japan Trip | Travel Guide to Narita Temple
Narita Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and is considered one of the oldest and most famous temples in Japan. Its history can be traced back to 809 AD, when it became a pilgrimage site for worshiping Kukai (also known as Kobo Daishi), attracting millions of visitors every year. Here are some travel tips for Narita Temple:
1. How to get to Narita Temple?
You can reach Narita Temple by tram, bus or rental car. The most convenient and economical way is to take the Keisei Main Line or JR Joban Line from the center of Tokyo to Narita Station, and then walk 15 minutes to the temple. You can also choose to take a public bus directly to Narita Sankou Station and then go to the temple. If you want to drive there, you can choose to depart from Tokyo or Chiba direction, and there are free parking lots available for visitors.
2. Temple opening hours and ticket prices.
Narita Temple is open to the public every day, but the opening hours may vary depending on the season and weather. Generally, the temple is open from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, and in summer, it is extended to 7:00 pm. The ticket price is 500 yen, and the price is the same no matter when you visit the temple.
3. Main attractions of the temple
Naritasan has many attractions worth visiting, including:
- Daihonzan: This is one of the most famous buildings in Narita Temple, built in the 17th century, mainly dedicated to the deity Acala.
- Bell Tower: The Bell Tower is 54 meters high and is one of the tallest bell towers in Japan.
- Ying'en Gate: This is the main entrance to the temple, with two 5-meter-high statues of Vajra warriors in front of the gate.
- Sanju-no-to: This is one of the oldest buildings in Narita Temple, built in 1607 and 55 meters high.
4. Activities and Festivals
Naritasan has many traditional activities and festivals, including:
- Paying homage to the great master Kukai: Every year on February 22nd, tens of thousands of people participate in this grand religious event.
- Cherry Blossom Festival: held every April, where you can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms.
- Temple renovation: once every 20 years, the next one will be held in 2025.
5. Dining experience
You can try Narita yaki, a crispy and sweet snack that is a specialty of Chiba. It is usually made with red bean filling and there are many snack shops around Naritasan Temple where you can buy this delicious food.
Here is the Naritasan travel guide I have prepared for you. I hope it can be helpful and wish you a pleasant journey! Naritasan Park.
