We enjoyed a very good lunch here while staying at the Plaza Athenée. Because it was mid-afternoon we were one of only two tables, so it was quiet but very pleasant in the beautiful dining room, which is decorated in classic French style. The tables are dressed with heavy linens and fine silverware as nice as any we've seen in good restaurants in Paris -- if only the room weren't windowless, making us feel a tiny bit closed in. The wines by the glass, though pricey, were excellent, and the salads were fresh and lovely. Service, while a tad perfunctory, was polished. Overall, a refined and pleasant place.
