My dad and I had dinner here on our first ever visit to New York (October 2015) - and his first visit ever to something as 'exotic' as a Mexican restaurant. Glad to report he liked it as much as I did. Nice atmosphere, good music, friendly service, and everything we had - queso fundido, enchiladas, dessert, specialty coffee - was delicious.
I love this place. It has 3 - 4 levels depending on how big your group is. If you are one of two people the street level is fine, but if you are over 10 people, they will take you upstairs and your group will be the only group. And their basement has a stage where they have events. Very cool and different kind of mexican restaurant. I also love the decor! My favorite food of theirs is the fried cheese in green sauce. The green sauce is spicy however, the cheese cuts the spiciness so you can enjoy it. They are also famous for their mezcal tequila. Super, super strong tequila, if you are into tequila, this is the place to go!
The drinks and food are amazing and the ambience is great. Perfect to hold a conversation with friend as music is perfect volume.
