wic***itThis Buddha Park can be reached by bus to save money as it is 25 Km away from Vientiane center. It was built about 60 years ago, having about 200 statues of Hindu and Buddhist believes. I feel the area is more like a park than a religious site. The park is located by the Mekong River and not far from Thai-Laos border gate. We walked inside to take photos in about an hour as the park is not large. We saw statues of Gods, human beings, animals and devils. They say the tallest part of this park can be seen from Thailand side. We went up the huge pumpkin having 3 levels representing hell, earth and heaven and there are statues inside too. The reclining Buddha statue is long about 40 meters and you can’t miss that. We visited around 2pm and it was so hot. Coconut juice, mango juice and other beverages are sold in the park. Price is about 25,000 Kip. The park entrance ticket doesn’t cost much (about the same price with a soft drink). The park has trees and plants which are pleasant to walk inside. Bring your water bottles.
wic***itPatuxay means Victory Gate and is located right in the center of the capital of Laos. It was built to remember the soldiers who fought for independence from France. It was designed by a Laotian architect and when I view the monument, I feel that it looks a bit like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. We bought tickets to go up the top. The city view is so breathtaking and we could see four directions. Before reaching the top, we saw four towers at four corners which look as nice as the main monument. On the ground there are very nice palm trees and ponds. Traffic around the monument looks like no one is rushing as all are passing through a very beautiful symbol of the country. The monument and decorations are stunning to me. I’m so impressed.
_We***08The magnificent statue stands proud and tall overlooking the Mekong. The park is large and beautiful with plenty of shaded spots. You eill alos come across the occasional vendor selling drinks or local snacks.
_GG***74This is one of the outstanding sights of Vientiane. It is no longer an active temple but rather a kind of museum. Inside the wat is an exhibition of Buddha figures. Especially after the recent renovation, the resort looks really grand and spreads a very nice atmosphere.
The corridor is the only way to go to Vientiane to Thailand. Every morning at 8:9 am, the train from Bangkok arrives at the station. However, from Vientiane to Bangkok, it takes a whole day to pass and take the car. Friends who don't have enough time don't recommend this way, but just like us, we don't have time, and we have a plot for the retro green leather train. We can walk all the way to life. Can experience.
We chose the time of departure in the afternoon so that we can reach Bangkok around noon the next day.
