Toronto’s China Town is one of the biggest communities of its kind in North America. Toronto has the highest number of Chinese in all of Canada. So it’s not surprising that the city is actually home to 5 separate China Towns. The main one is located in the city center of Toronto. Spreading westwards along Dundas Street to Spadina, as far as Nathan Phillips Square. There are many excellent Chinese restaurants, shops and specialty stores in Toronto. There are also many street vendors and craftsmen selling their wares, especially at weekends. If you plan to visit the city and want to spend some time in this wonderful area filled with luxury restaurants, fun shops and markets, know that Toronto’s China Town area has many clean, comfortable and pretty hotels. Restaurants and shops practically spill out onto the streets, and most of the passersby are Chinese, so you’ll feel yourself at home here. The best thing about visiting this part of the city is the food. There are tons of restaurants in the area and very few of them offer North American style nouvelle cuisine; instead you can find authentic Chinese cuisine here. Szechuan, Hunan, Cantonese or even Northern style cuisine can be found. Of course, the food prices here are very reasonable. For those of you visiting Toronto but whose stomach yearns for home, you can allay your fears.
