I saw the Nutcracker here, and it was incredible. The building itself was going through some facade work as there was scaffolding all along the north side. The staff isn't too friendly, but the inside is breathtakingly beautiful. If you're a ballet person, or can at least tolerate ballet, a performance at this theater is a must-see when in Prague.
Beautiful just to walk by, especially at night. If you can stop in for a performance, definitely do because it will be one you will never forget.
If you like culture, you have to visit National theatre in Prague.
1 block away, a must if you are visiting Prague.
The National Theatre in Prague belongs to the most important Czech cultural institutions with a rich artistic tradition which was created and maintained by the most distinguished personalities in Czech society. The artistic ensembles performed are opera, ballet and drama. It is very close to Charles Bridge and if you want to try something really "prague like" you should assist to one performance.
The National Theatre building is beautifully lit up at night. Built in 1883, it is famous for its operas and ballet performances.
Another amazing place and structure in Prague. we went to see don Giovanni opera there. amazing in day light and as well at night time.
If you want to visit a theatre that plays an important role in Prague's cultural history, go to the City State Theatre (Esther Theatre), which has always been known as Esther Theatre and its stage for its premiere "Don Jovanny" opera directed by Mozart himself. If you want to enjoy a classic performance, come to this theatre, too. But it should be noted that the classic performance of this theatre sometimes costs as much as 1200 kroner.
