Great looking mosque in the capital

Majestic and grand while jutting out into the man-made lake. Absolutely beautiful. A place popular for tourists and photo op.

    A beauty...

The 'pink' mosque is a beauty - and in a beautiful position on the lake. It looks wonderful from everywhere you see it, and well worth seeing it from several locations and in different light.

    Extremely disappointed

From 26/01/2020, no tourist are allowed to enter the mosque apparently due to the virus, unless you look like you could be a Muslim tourist and then this rule does not apply.

Additional Information

Introduction

The entire Putra Mosque reflects in the calm water along Putrajaya. Three quarters of the pink-domed Putra Mosque is built over the water, and it can accommodate over 10,000 worshippers. It has two floors. The second floor is for women, while the first floor is for men, both of which accommodate thousands of worshippers. Putra Mosque recites the Koran in the minaret during each worship. The Koran hovers over the mosque.
