Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing is located to the west of West Lake, at the foot of Lingfeng Mountain in Qingzhiwu. Lingfeng Temple was built during the Kaiyun period of the Later Jin Dynasty. There are Cuivei Pavilion, Mianyun Hall, Miaogao Terrace, Washing Bowl Pool, etc. In the early Wanli period, the temple was ruined and the monks scattered, leaving only the temple buildings. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Lianxi, the commander of Zhejiang Province, rebuilt Lingfeng Temple and planted more than a hundred plum trees around it. In the first year of Xuantong, Zhou Mengpo planted another 300 plum trees, making it a good place to appreciate plum blossoms, hence the name "Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing". The Hangzhou Botanical Garden has always been a classic place to appreciate plum blossoms! There are more than 40 different varieties of wax plums in the garden, a total of more than 1,200 trees, most of which are concentrated around the Lingfeng Scenic Area. The Wax Plum Garden, Longyue Tower, and the entrance to Lingfeng are the three most densely planted areas, and there are also a few scattered plantings in other areas of the garden.
