Li Shizhen Tomb

Li Shizhen Cemetery is located by the beautiful Yuhu Lake in the east of the ancient city of Qizhou, covering an area of 80 acres. It consists of four parts: Li Shizhen Cemetery, Li Shizhen Memorial Hall, Li Shizhen Medical History Archives and Medicine Garden. It is a national patriotism education demonstration base. Li Shizhen's cemetery is located in Crab Land, across the lake from Vanilla Dam, Li Shizhen's birthplace. The Li Shizhen Memorial Hall is a complex of antique (Ming Dynasty) buildings, magnificent and well-proportioned. A large number of precious medical materials and drug specimens are displayed in the museum. The Li Shizhen Medical History Archives collects more than ten versions of Chinese and foreign "Compendium of Materia Medica", as well as medical books, documents, newspapers and magazines that introduced Li Shizhen in ancient and modern times. Li Shizhen Medicine Garden consists of two parts: Medicine Stele Gallery and Baicao Garden. It is a natural museum of traditional Chinese medicine. The Herbal Inscription Corridor is inlaid with 128 pieces of stone carvings of medicinal materials, which are finely carved and lifelike; more than 310 varieties of medicinal materials are planted in the Baicao Garden.
