Cave beach adventure
The cave, which is located on the east side of Railay Bay, is known for its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. Before venturing out to sea, fisherman have paid sacrifices to the symbolic Phallus of Shiva at Phra Nang (which means Princess) Cave since ancient times (known as the Siwaleung or Palad Khik in Thai).
The fishermen, who believe the cave is the home of a mythical sea princess, believe that making offerings will help them catch more fish and keep them safe, but what's more remarkable is that the cave contains a large collection of carved wooden phallic symbols, offerings, and other fertility-related objects. Which you can see on my third photo.
