Queensland is one of Australia's six states and its name is to commemorate Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. Queensland is located in the northeastern part of the Australian mainland, east to the Pacific Ocean, west to the north and South Australia, and south to New South Wales and North Carolina to the Gulf of Beaten. Queensland has many famous attractions, such as the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef. Queensland has a number of theme parks and national parks and is Australia's famous tourist and holiday destination. Rich in mineral resources, developed agriculture and animal husbandry, mining, agriculture and tourism are the three pillar industries of the state's economy.
