This trail starts at the end of the waterfront. It is a relaxing and moderate walk with some nice little cottage-like rocky beach views between the mountains and the water. A great place to get a good workout and rest from the town.
This was a walking tour, relatively small for some hikers in Queenstown, and it felt like I was the only one hiking here. There are many beautiful places along the way to stop and sit and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend this hike to allow a few hours to enjoy the beautiful lakeside views.
SunshineBayWalk refers to the trail that connects Queenstown and SunshineBay and extends westward. If you want to walk the whole route, you need to have a certain amount of hiking experience. Ordinary tourists can just taste it. The banks of this section of the river are all white sandy beaches, and the mountains with the Lord of the Rings on the opposite side are very spectacular. If you walk in the early morning, you will have a good chance to see the long white cloud landscape of New Zealand. The walk from the Queenstown Steamboat Wharf to Fernhill Rd roundabout is made of cement roads. On a sunny day, it is like walking in the scenery painted by PS. After passing the roundabout, it is the real Walk. Well...it starts by the shore - but then you drift up into the hill beside the road - and in places it is quite a climb. Still a lovely and different way to get to Queenstown!
