Perhaps because it is still a government building, the seat of the State Supreme Court, not a museum, even for those who have been to the city centre, the Ilani Palace, etc., Alejandro Olenisheller seems to have been overlooked. It was built in the early 1970s as the palace of King Kamehameha, but he decided to use it as a new government building. Since then it has been the local government office space. When it is open, visitors can go in during normal business hours of the week. There are some historical works and artifacts on display, quite grand. It is probably best known in the iconic statue of King Kamehameha.
