Aliiolani Hale stands in the heart of Honolulu, facing the famous Iolani Palace and the statue of King Kamehameiha I. As a symbol of prosperity and stability in the Kingdom of Hawaii, it was built in 1874 by King Kamehameha V and designed by Thomas Rowe, then a famous Australian architect. Today, the building has been registered in the state of Hawaii and on the list of important historic buildings in the United States.
