According to relevant historical records, there were 91 archways in Chaozhou in history, including 39 Taiping Road and 44 other streets and alleys. The rest were in Jinshan, Hanshan and Xiangzi Bridge. In addition, there are 57 villages and towns, so people call it "archway city"; and the archways concentrated on Taiping Road (street) are mainly four pillars and three gates across the road, which are large in scale, row by row, unique in style and extraordinary momentum, so they are known as "archway street".
