1. The archway in China has existed since ancient times. Ancient archways have been handed down to later generations, and there are still many places in existence. Archway culture is an integral part of Chinese traditional culture. Its main function is to commemorate and highlight the achievements of festivals, merits and virtues, and Kodi in the form of memorial archways, and to praise merits and virtues. The most representative archway culture in China is the Ming and Qing Archway Street in Chaozhou. It is also the best scenic spot for visiting ancient archways, with the largest number and concentration. 2. Eleven of us visited the Ming and Qing Paifang Street in Chaozhou on the afternoon of May 28 this year. It is located on Taiping Road (Street) in Chaozhou City. The whole long Taiping Street is mostly four-pillar and three-door archways, standing across the road, ranks after ranks and magnificent. When I look at it, I can't help but be shocked. 3. According to historical records, the first archway in the Ming and Qing Dynasties of Chaozhou is the Sijin Shifang built by Zhengde Dingugou (1517) of the Ming Dynasty. It was established for Xiao He-cheng, Chen Daqi, Xue Kan and Su Xinjian, the scholar of Zhengde Ding and Ugly Section in Ming Dynasty. The maximum number of Mingzhao archways in Chaozhou was 91. By October 1949, 39 archways coexisted. By April 1951, 36 archways were demolished, leaving only "Yuebe", "Provincial Lang" and "Zhongjie" three archways. During the Cultural Revolution, two archways "Yuebe" and "Provincial Lang" were demolished, and only "Zhongjie" archways remained. 4. The Ming and Qing archways in Chaozhou that we see now began to be repaired in April 2004 and completed on October 1, 2009, and opened to the public formally. Chaozhou Chronicle is making Chaozhou Ming and Qing Paifang Street the largest ancient Paifang Street in China and the unique landmark in the world. 5. We now see 22 restored Chaozhou Ming and Qing archways. These archways all belong to three types: Jingbiaofang, famous, official and Chifeng. There are single names such as "Sijin Shifang", "Zhuangyuan Fang" and so on; there are single official, such as "Dali Shiping Yunfang of Zhejiang Province" and so on; there are single well-known, such as "Enguangqu Chu Fang"; there are both honorary and official, such as "Jinbang Lianfang Liangjing Kedaofang" and so on, there are 22 memorial halls which are both honorary and well-known, such as "Wuchu Chongzhen Fourth Shifufang" which are rebuilt respectively "Sijin Shifang, Siwenfang. Wuchu Chongzhen IV Doctor's Square, Jin Chongguang Closed Quilt Square, Bangyuan Qiutai Square, Xianbanmu Tianrenrui Square, Qijun Square, Enguang Quxi Square. 6. Paifang Street in Ming and Qing Dynasties is the center of the Millennium Ancient City of Chaozhou (on the central axis), Chaozhou gourmet restaurants, specialty stores (Chaozhou Sanbao - "old citrus bergamot, yellow peel, old medicinal orange, etc.) craft stores gather on both sides of Mingzhao Paifang Street and flourish. After visiting Paifang Street in Ming and Qing Dynasties, you can go to nearby Guangji Tower, Kaiyuan Temple, Xufu Mafu and other famous scenic spots in Chaozhou. (See figure below)
