Baidi City is located on the North Bank of the Yangtze River at Qutang Gorge Estuary, Fengjie County, Chongqing. It is a famous tourist attraction of the Three Gorges. There are the scenery of Mount Tai, the strange stone spectacle of Rabbit's Ear Ridge, the original name of Ziyang City, which was built by Gongsun Shu, who was separated from Shu in the late Western Han Dynasty. Gongsun Shu is named White Emperor, so the name of the city is "White Emperor City". Baidi City is the best place to see Kuimen Tianxiong. Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, Liu Yuxi, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Fan Chengda, Lu You, and other famous poets of all dynasties, have visited the Baidi Emperor and left a large number of poems, so Baidi City has a reputation of "Shicheng". In the late Western Han Dynasty, Gongsun built a city on the hill according to Shu. Because a well in the city often emitted white air, like a white dragon, he named himself White Emperor and named the city White Emperor City. After Gongsun Shu died, the local people built temples on the mountain to erect Gongsun Shu-xiang, known as the White Emperor Temple. Due to the unorthodoxy of Gongsun Shu, the governor of Sichuan destroyed Gongsun Shu in 1512, offering sacrifices to Jiang Shen, Tu Shen and Ma Ai, and renamed it "Sangong Temple". In the 20th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1533), Liu Bei was sacrificed, Zhuge Liangxiang was named "the Temple of Justice" and later Guan Yu and Zhang Feixiang were added to the temple, forming a pattern that there was no White Emperor in the temple of White Emperor, while the figure of Shuhan was sacrificed for a long time. On May 25, 2006, Baidi City, as an ancient building from Ming to Qing Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be listed in the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units. On June 10, 2017, the Great Baidicheng Site officially launched the declaration of world cultural heritage.
