Church of San Giorgio Maggiore Review

The church of St. George Machore, built on a small island of the same name diagonally opposite the central part of the city, was designed by the famous Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Paladio, and was built in 1566 and only in 1610, 30 years after the architect's death. The 75-meter-high clock tower was built in 1467, collapsed in 1774 and was rebuilt in 1791. Now it stands simple and with the church, and stands on the view of the eastern sea mouth of Venice.

St. George Machore is one of the islands of Venice in northern Italy. The island, or more specifically its Paladio-style church, is a 16th-century Benedictine church designed by Andrea Paladio (Andrea Palladio), built between 1566 and 1610. The church is a classical Renaissance-style church, its bright white marble glittering above the blue water of the lagoon opposite St. Mark's Square, forming the focus of the vision of various parts of Rivadgli Chavoni (Riva degli Schiavoni).

Visit Venice. It's a pity that the weather is not so good. It's cloudy all the time. It rains occasionally, which makes the trip to Venice like Vienna leave a little regret. In the morning, I bought a day's pass and went to town by boat. The planned route is to get off the boat and visit the church on St. George's Maggiore Island, opposite St. Mark's Square. There are few tourists on the island. The church was built in the 16th century and was also a masterpiece.

The church on the island is very beautiful. Be sure to go to the bell tower, there are no queues, unlike the bell tower in St Mark's Square (I have been there twice on the same day) and have amazing views from the top. It only costs 5 to 6 euros per person. If you don’t have a day, then you can take a boat back at Zaccaria station, which is the cheapest option to leave the island (€10 return). Also, if you are on the island, don’t be afraid of the bells that will ring every hour.
