Founded in 1876, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is located in the Montmartre Heights of Paris. It combines Roman and Byzantine styles. The two statues on horseback in the church are King St. Louis and Joan of Arc, the French national hero. The reliefs, murals and mosaics in the church are very exquisite. Sisters sing in unison with the audience. The sound effect and aesthetic feeling are comparable to opera. Outside the church overlooks the city of Paris for thousands of years. It is the second highest elevation in Paris outside the Eiffel Tower.
