Go to Berlin for an international conference. One night during the conference, after dinner, I took a little time to stroll around Berlin. Walking along the Spree River in Berlin, the air was still a bit cold, the lights on both sides of the Straits were hidden, and there were not many people. Since I don't have time to go to other attractions in Berlin, I want to try to find the Berlin Wall to see. There is no online map so convenient, find a place to ask. Seeing the pedestrians on the road in a hurry, I just found a middle-aged gentleman to ask for directions. Unexpectedly, the middle-aged gentleman did not say anything, very enthusiastically sent us directly to the location of the Berlin Wall, and enthusiastically explained some related situations to us. The Berlin Wall, the Berlin Wall, was a closed border system built by the Democratic German government around the West Berlin border during the Cold War to separate it from the federal German-administered city of West Berlin, which the Democratic German government called “the anti-fascist defense wall”. The aim was to prevent free movement between the Democratic Germany (including the capital East Berlin) and the Federal Republic of Germany's West Berlin. The Berlin Wall was a symbol of Germany's division and a landmark of the beginning of the cold war. The fall of the Berlin Wall, which marked the reunification of Germany, was part of the upheavals in Eastern Europe, also propelled the collapse of the Soviet Union and marked the end of the Cold War. The wall we see now is not the original Berlin Wall, but a wall rebuilt in June 2000 to commemorate the history of the time. There are various graffiti on the wall, and a sign illustrates all this. Finally, a photo was taken by the Spree River, leaving the enthusiasm and goodwill of the German people permanently.
