Hainan Betelnut Valley Limiao Cultural Tourist Area, founded in 1998, is the first national cultural 5A-level scenic spot, the "living fossil" of Hainan national culture. It is located in more than ten thousand pavilions, graceful betel nut forest sea, and in the ancient trees, vines intertwined tropical rain forest. Betelnut Valley is named for its forests overlapping on both sides and a few kilometres of Betelnut Valley in the middle. The scenic spot is composed of seven major cultural experience areas, i.e. non-legacy village, Ganshili village, Guyin Miao family, field Li family, "betel nut ancient rhyme" large-scale live performance, orchid cabin, and Li Miao flavor food street. Ten national intangible cultural heritages are also displayed in the scenic spot, among which "the traditional spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills of Li Nationality" is listed in the list of intangible cultural heritages urgently in need of protection by UNESCO.
