Notre Dame's Cathedral of Ascension, also known as Zagreb Cathedral, is known as "the most magnificent and stylish Church in the southeastern part of the Alps that best reflects the art of neo-Gothic architecture". It took five centuries to complete the building, which has two spire towers over 100 meters high and can be seen at the top anywhere in the block. This is the Cathedral of Zagreb. Its magnificent scale and exquisite sculpture are absolutely comparable to St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. Outside the church is Capto Square, a tall pillar topped by the Virgin Mary and four angels, the work of 19th century Vienna sculptor Antun Fernkorn.
