Death Railway Review

A surreal experience, The Death railway, offers a majestic view of the River Kwai. It’s historic significance goes back to the World War 2. Its a must visit for history buffs.

Beibi's most famous attraction, the "Death Railway", is also called "Thai-Myanmar Railway". During the Japanese occupation of Myanmar during World War II, many construction workers and mostly prisoners of war were requisitioned to build the railway to Myanmar, and the environment was very unfriendly, with rivers on one side and mountains on the other. It is perfectly conceivable how difficult it was when it was built, causing many people to lose their lives, and it has become a world famous event and landmark under the name of the “Death Railway.”

It is a very beautiful tourist destination, good view, good light, good atmosphere.

The railway of death contains a heavy history of World War II, when Japan forced prisoners of war to build a railway connecting Bangkok, Thailand, to Yangon, Myanmar, for war purposes. Tens of thousands of prisoners of war and workers lost their lives during the construction, so called the railway of death. The current "death railway" has no such name as the breath of the people, but has become a famous sightseeing spot in Beibi. The "death railway" can mainly visit two sections, one is the Kwai River Bridge, the other is THAMKRASAE. We took the train from the Kwai River Bridge along the "Death Railway" to THAMKRASAE, and when we arrived at THAMKRASAE, people sitting on the left could see the steepness of the cliffs on both sides of the train, the small river. After getting off the train at THAMKRASAE, you can also go back to the essence of the dead railway, passing through a cave Buddhist temple (Krasae Cave). This section is worth a special trip, many people visit the dead railway often only see the Guihe Bridge.
