The Beibi Death Railway, also known as the Myanmar Railway, or the Thai-Myanmar Railway, is a railway that Japan built to occupy Myanmar during World War II, connecting Bangkok, Thailand, and Yangon, Myanmar. The name of the death railway comes from the death rate of workers during construction. It is a heinous crime that the railway, originally planned for six years, completed a total of 415 kilometers, 17 months after the cost of high death rates for workers, and a total of 100,000 people paid their precious lives.
