Yuanjue Temple is one of the five famous temples in Kamakura. As long as you arrive in Kamakura, you must check in. According to the introduction on the ticket, the temple was built in 1282, which is a typical Chinese Buddhist temple type and the oldest existing Chinese building in Japan. The reason why Yuanjue became a famous temple was because Kublai tried to cross the sea in 1271 to invade Japan, causing panic in Japan. At that time, when the Kamakura Shogunate in Japan was down, the temple Kaishan ancestors, the Song Dynasty high monks without learning ancestor Yuan for the fallen soldiers prayed super, resulting in Kublai's Mongolian army twice in the sea was blocked by storms, resolving the crisis of the Japanese kingdom, making Yuanjue Temple famous throughout the country. Wu Xuezu Yuan later returned to China, his first son as a gratitude teacher, so expanded the monastery, broadcast the Buddha, became a famous temple in Japan. Yuanjue Temple is built along the mountain, the courtyard is in a long row, there is a water pool under the mountain, divided into two pools, called the white pool, the poolside has a Chinese pure land Zongchan Temple-style garden. The name of the Bailuchi Lake is said to be the obvious spirit of the god of the Yasaka Palace in Hegang. The white crane was sent to guide the master of the unscientific ancestor Yuan to build the temple. The white dragon did not see it, and then saw a few turtles leisurely sunbathe. The garden is configured with solemn and peaceful, up the mountain from the stone steps, with towering ancient fir forests on both sides. Crossing the stone street and walking along the trail, you can reach the mountain gate. The style is magnificent. There are exquisite woodcuts on the cross beam. The surrounding scenery is elegant. There is a path to Hongzhong on the right side of the mountain gate. This is the most famous and largest temple bronze bell in Kamakura. It has a long history and was built in 1301. After passing the mountain gate, you can go to the temple to worship the original Buddha of Yuanjue Temple. Because of the crown, it is called the Baoguan Sakya Rulai. The "Daguangming Palace" was given by Emperor Houguangyan in 1378. Looking up at the roof, the white dragon picture painted by the algae well was painted by the Maeda Qingxuan painter and his disciple Shouwu Duoduozhi painter. From the temple of the Buddha, you can see the Yuanjue Xingsheng Temple on the right. This is the main mountain of the Yuanjue Temple in Linjizong, Japan. You can continue to walk up to the Miaoxiang Pool. In fact, it is the release pool. Because the rock exposed on the other side seems to be tiger head, so it is called "tiger head rock", the poolside is full of flowers, the scenery is quite Zen. Going to the left of Miaoxiangchi, you can reach the Sheli Temple, the oldest Chinese Tang Dynasty-style building in Japan, which is listed as a national treasure by the government and is a courtyard house where the ancestors were not educated when the mountains opened. The Sheli Temple in Yuanjue Temple is dedicated to the teeth of the Sakya Buddha known as the "Buddha Teeth Sheli". Other attractions such as Jushilin, the abbot room, etc., are suitable for walking slowly and taste quietly. Japanese monasteries are not like domestic ones, and fireworks are everywhere. You can only see the money box, throw 5 yen in, shake the bell, wake up the Buddha, and make a wish. I feel that Japanese monasteries are more inclined to "Zen". Summer Musushi, Shimazaki Fujimura used to participate in Zen here.
