伏見稲荷大社、KyotoFushimi Inari Taisha is an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto. It is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The trails lead into the wooded forest of the sacred Mount Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds.Fushimi Inari is the most important of several thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Foxes are thought to be Inari's messengers, resulting in many fox statues across the shrine grounds. Fushimi Inari Shrine has ancient origins, predating the capital's move to Kyoto in 794.

Remember 2019.11 Kansai late autumn trip~ Come to Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Dashe must come to worship, not only because of the spectacular thousands of birds, but also for the beautiful scenery of the mountains, pious prayer. The fox is the messenger of the god Inari, which is visible everywhere here, and is a symbol and representative of Fushimi Inari Dashe. There are many kinds of big shrines and Yushou. I really like them. There are many fox gods on them. The types of prayer are also varied, ringing bells, moving stones, etc. As long as there is a pious heart, the wishes can be realized. There are a lot of tourists who come here to pray for blessings, and thousands of birds are concentrated in a lot of people queuing to take pictures. Walking all the way to the mountain, it was getting wider and wider, the crowd was gradually away, and the scenery was getting more and more charming, but unfortunately it was cloudy that day. After climbing for a while, I read the road map and felt that it would take me2-3 hours to travel all over the mountain. Time was limited, so I climbed halfway down and started to go down, I think I will have a chance to come again next time. Although compared with the maple tour a few days ago, Fushimi Inari Dashe did not leave me any amazing red maple picture, but the rich and varied Dashe still makes my heart full of good feelings.

About a 1 hour walk to the top of the mountain/shrine.It was amazing. Early morning hike was great! We got there by 7 and barely anyone around. We had the place mostly to ourselves and a few locals. Really loved visiting this shrine. It is a good hike up to the top but you’ll go pass many small shrines, souvenir shops and even sake shops to just sit and enjoy .

One of the most visited regions of Kyoto. I recommend going at sunset when you can take beautiful photos of the street. Typical Japanese shops and a beautiful temple on the top of the hill.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is situated in 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0882, Japan. The seemingly endless path of vibrant orange Torii Gates that line the approach to Mt. Inari makes for an impressive setting and is one of the most iconic images of Japan. Many visitors go to Fushimi Inari Shrine to explore the mountain trails. The Fushimi Inari Taisha is open daily and 24hrs.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re into Shinto culture. The area is a concentrated place for Shinto worship! if you’re there for photos, hike up the mountain to avoid the crowds!
