The Hong Kong Horse Racing Museum opened on October 18, 1996, covering more than 6,000 square feet. The Museum has eight exhibition halls, a cinema and a gift gallery for 84 people. The themes of the pavilions include the history of horse racing in Hong Kong, the development of Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourse, as well as the information of several generations of famous horses, including the skeleton of three horse races. Short films on horse racing are regularly shown in cinemas to give visitors a better understanding of the history of horse racing in Hong Kong.
