The Jeronim monastery in the Lisbon area of Beren, Portugal, was the only large church that survived the Lisbon earthquake and sheltered the royal family that was worshiping at the time, known as a miracle. Now the church is set with the Portuguese poet Carmons and the sarcophagus of Indian navigator Da Gava, worth a look.
