There are two ancient trees in the park after Emperor Kangxi ascended the throne. In order to keep the tradition of horseback riding and shooting in mind for the eight banners'sons and daughters, the ancient trees in Jingshan were often used as the target to test their riding and shooting skills, and the two ancient cypresses in front of Guande Hall were named "Second General Cypress".
