If you are in Oahu and join in on one of the many city tours offered by nearly every ground based tour provider, this highly photogenic area is likely to be one of your first stops. With a world famous statue of Hawaii's much loved King Kamehameha the 5th decorating the front lawn, and a beautifully designed building that was originally conceived as a Palace behind that, it is by far one of the most photographed areas on the island. Home to plenty of information about the short lived Hawaiian democracy, this top Honolulu attraction is worth venturing out of Waikiki for. It is near a number of other attractions, including the Iolani Palace and the amazing architectural wonder that is the Hawaii State Capital Building, adding to the temptation to explore this historically rich area of the city.
