You should stay in this monastery at least a week, is so beautiful and peaceful place. And if even Buddhism is not your thing you still have a great opportunity to understand it better.

This is a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is very close to the tourist attractions in Kathmandu and the best option is to arrive by taxi. The price of arriving here from the Tamil community is between 1000-1500 rupees. I suggest you not to walk back from the temple as that road is difficult to walk. The temple is very clean and if you arrive between 9 and 10 you will have the opportunity to see the monks praying, after which you can enter the prayer hall and take pictures. Remember that the monks are not allowed to take pictures when praying. The prayer hall also has a large garden where you can relax and enjoy the views of Kathmandu. Also, some places are forbidden for visitors, but if you see signs that say “No entry”, it means that cars (taxis) cannot enter. Great, it’s free to visit.

This is a Tibetan temple. It makes it quiet and peaceful in the suburbs. After a long time in the big city, it gradually likes the silence here. Moreover, what I prefer is the story of reincarnation of living Buddha, which deeply feels the wonder of reincarnation and the preciousness of life. The people here are very pious. I think they all respect life. There is also a small garden here. It's very comfortable to walk around.

I came back in February to attend the "10-day beginner course" which was just one reason why I saved money back to Asia. Your experience will always be with you. Here you can learn about Buddhist philosophy, libraries and cafes, great scenery, interesting speeches, and lovely nuns and monks as companions. You will want to take the next course (longer). The masters are very kind and friendly. They also come out of their daily practice residence for tourists to visit. When you get out of here, the whole person will change. See you next time, Gaoban Temple.

I've been here with my mother for a week. We live here and it feels great. We don't know much about Buddhism, but we are well received and all the questions are answered. The library here is really a good resource. There are cafes here, but the meals are provided by temples. Convenience stores are very necessary. If you forget to bring something or you want snacks, the monks here are super good. It feels great here, it's comfortable to live. Super recommend you try it. Damo has a good conversation. I want to go back to class again. Everyone I talk to is very passionate.

Gaoban Temple is a beautiful Tibetan temple, located in the suburbs of Nepal. It's worth visiting here. You can see Buddha statues, pagodas and beautiful decorations. It feels great.
