On the banks of the Chao Phraya River, there is another place that I highly recommend to visit, which is LHONG 1919, which is known as the "Taizhong Art History Pier". This art area is a daily set of lights, Chinese elements are rich, want to come here for New Year's Day, do not have a fun! It is understood that this pier was built in 1850 by Chen Cixi, a wealthy Shantou merchant from China, when it was the main pier for Siam rice to be sold in Hong Kong, Singapore, Saigon, Shantou and other places, and as a distribution point for goods in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and other places. Because steam-powered "fire boat" as a transport ship, it is also known as the "fire boat corridor". The five long corridor-style two-story buildings in the area are very contemporary and artistic, all built in 1919, LHONG 1919 (1919) named for this. The refurbished LHONG 1919 reopened in November 2017. I found many very distinctive shops in which the goods sold in the store have both Chinese and Thai elements, and even Chinese elements account for most of them. From the design and texture, I was surprised! In this art area, there is also a Mazu Temple, which is constantly incense and is an important witness to the historical footprint of the Thai Chinese.
