Queensland is the only state in Australia that allows tourists to hug a koala, woo hoo! As such, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the MUST go place for all animal lovers. Thanks to trip.com, we managed to get a discounted entrance ticket at $20+ (Tips: buy in advance, usual price is $40). There are two koala photo session each day, it is totally free (ranger will hug the koala for u), however if you want to hug a koala by yourself, you are required to pay for another $25, still worth it since you can’t hug it anywhere else. There is a very big compound reserves for kangaroos, kangaroos and wallabies are roam freely in the area, I somehow managed to catch a selfie w a kangaroo! But, beware of your steps, their shits are everywhere on the floor. Some other activities to highlight are sheep dog herding show, falcon and owl feeding.Overall is a very good experience, easily accessible by bus (direct to CBD area), people normally spend 3-4 hours there.
