The Mahathir Temple is located on the west side of the Reclining Buddha Temple in Ruidaliang, built in 1560 by the emperor Mang Yinglong of the Dongguan Dynasty. Because in Buddhist tradition, kings who can help Buddhism develop and spread have the legitimacy of their rule, legend has said that Mang Yinglong personally welcomed the Buddha Teeth Sheri from Sri Lanka and placed it in the Mahathir Temple in order to consolidate his rule. Buddha teeth after several twists and turns, they were finally placed in the Gomudul Buddha Pagoda in Shizui. Unfortunately, the sacred "Buddha teeth" were later proved to be nothing more than a fake. The Mahathir Temple also experienced many wars and hardships, and was not completed until 1982 because of earthquakes and other reasons. Regardless of the tortuous history of the Buddha's teeth above, the architectural style of the Mahathir Temple is unique in southern Myanmar. The top of the ladder leading to the Golden Pagoda is decorated with small pagodas, and the temple has neat and uniform wavy gold apex at many angles. From a distance, the white walls reflect each other, which is very beautiful.
