The original site of the monument is the Nazi propaganda department, I want to say from the heart, Germany, cattle! The significance of all the monuments is to give the living a chance to face history. Its aesthetic value is related to whether it can reflect the thickness of the monument. Two of the monuments I visited have done so, the European Jewish Memorial in Berlin and the Monument to the 911 site in New York. I'm thinking that how the living look at the dead may be more important than what death means to the dead, which in turn determines the value of death.
