The statue of Molly Malone in Dublin tells a very sad story. She was a regular farmer-wife who, during the Irish famine, took the family's life with her own labor, raised many children, and died because of overwork. The statue, which was built to commemorate the hardworking mother, has now become one of Dublin's symbols.
