The castle garden is adjacent to the Palace of the New Hofburg. In 1819, Emperor Franz I ordered the garden to be built on the site of the fortifications of the city destroyed by the French army. In 1848, Emperor Franz I ordered it to be converted into an English garden and expanded again. There are now three statues in the garden. The statue of Mozart is facing the Ring Street, and the pedestal is a scene of Mozart's playing and singing.
