On the west side of Beihai Park is the famous Beijing Library. Here you can see the most beautiful library building in Beijing. In the past, you can also see the large roof building. The yard is also towering in ancient trees and stone table. The Beijing Normal Library, which was prepared for construction, was officially opened in 1912, and was renamed the National Beiping Library in 1928, and then renamed the Beijing Library after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Its collection history dates back more than 700 years ago. The original area of 8,000 square meters has now grown to nearly 40,000 square meters. From 1949 to 1979, the collection of books has reached 10 million volumes, including ancient and modern books of more than 20 nationalities in China and hundreds of thousands of good books, and also focuses on the collection of 115 foreign publications, of which the most are English, Russian, Japanese, French and German. In 1997, the National Library decided to fully repair and renovate the original building of the branch after nearly seven decades of storms and rains. On July 1, the branch was fully closed. It was put into trial operation on December 18, 2000 and officially reopened on January 1, 2001. Looking at the appearance, it is a typical large roof structure in China, which is the same as some buildings in the Forbidden City, and Tai Temple, Confucius Temple and other buildings are all such forms of architecture. So, this library is one of the rare ancient libraries in the world, now a hundred years old. Reading here is the same procedure as the new National Library in the direction of Zizhuyuan, so people living in the city are the same to borrow books or read here. However, the environment for reading here is still more comfortable and comfortable. The beautiful Beihai White Tower is reflected in the lake, and the boats are rippling in the lake. The opposite Zhongnanhai and Beihai two pools of spring water surround it. This library should be said to be a "favorite building".
