Munich's new town hall, built in the 19th century, is a tall, majestic, brown-black Gothic building, whose vertical lines make it more solemn. It looks like a layer of white frost. In the niche between its front windows stood statues of Byrne kings, saints and mythical heroes. It took 40 years since 1867 to complete the grand layout and gorgeous decoration of the whole building.
