The forbidden city's outer court and inner court are bounded by the Qianqing Gate, which is the gate of the inner court palace. There are glazed walls on the left and right. Inside the gate are the latter three palaces - "Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Palace and Kunning Palace. The Qianqing Palace was first built in the eighteenth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1420). It was rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties because of several incinerations. The existing buildings were built in the third year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1798). The Qianqing Palace covers 9 rooms in width and 5 in depth, covering an area of 1400 square meters. It is situated on a single layer of white marble terrace with a height of 20 meters from the terrace to the main ridge and 9 corniced ridges. There is a platform in front of the temple, and there are copper tortoises (turtles, actually the body of the dragon head turtle, one of the nine sons born by the dragon, named Baxia). The copper crane takes the meaning of the tortoise crane extending its life, which symbolizes the heritage of Jiangshan society from generation to generation.
