I was in Makati AirBnB just a 10 minute walk from Hulo terminal so I thought the ferry was a fun and cheap way to get to Intramuros, Chinatown and so on. The fare was 30p and I waited about 10 minutes to disembark. During the ride, I asked if I could go and open the bow to take pictures, and the captain (?) said yes. The river view was better and the breeze was lighter than the slightly stuffy cabin. The traffic on the river wasn't as much as I expected, but it was enough to make the trip interesting. For some reason not explained or announced, the last stop of the ship was Santa Ana, less than halfway from Intramuros. Santa Ana terminal was not as "official" as Hulo terminal and the neighborhood looked a little bit short. So I got off as instructed and started paying attention to other passengers. Less than 100 yards/metre from Santa Ana Market (which I now know is so), it is a great place for a lower-level local culture compared to the richer Makati Central Business District. After a walk around the market, I wasn’t sure how to get to Intramuros, so I walked to the electric tricycle driver who was parked in the alley and said Intramuros. He said "how much?" That wasn't the response I expected, so to avoid long round trips, I said 300 pesos (I could certainly do it for a much less price) and we went.
