Patan Museum Review

Patan Museum is one of oldest museum in Nepal. It’s historical and In an International Campaign by UNESCO for safeguarding the monuments of Kathmandu valley, the Austrian Government joined hands with Nepal Government to preserve Patan Darbar Square.

The Patan Museum is a two-story cloister-style building with a small space and a narrow staircase. The museum is dimly lit, sparsely visited and the atmosphere is relatively quiet.

The Patan Museum experienced serious human damage in the earthquake, and this museum has a lot of art collection, just in the eastern area of Patan Square, this museum also needs to be paid to visit, the price is quite good.

The Patan Palace area has two museums - the Patan Museum and the Moore Palace, the Sandari Palace & the Architectural Gallery. 1. The Patan Museum features beautiful Hindu and Buddhist Buddha statues and some historically flavoured old photographs, artifacts and crafts. It is in a building whole with Caesar Narayan Palace (Keshav Narayan Chok) in the palace's three palace courtyards. 2. The Muer Palace, Sangdar Palace & Architectural Art Gallery show mainly Nepalese architecture and wood carvings.

Patanduba Square is one of the three ancient palace squares in the Kathmandu Valley. In addition to the ancient palace, the temples are full of the most amazing "Newark architecture" in Nepal. Unfortunately, the 2015 earthquake almost destroyed the entire square, with a scene of post-earthquake, rubble and ruins. Patanduba Square layout and Kathmandu Dubba Square Similar, smaller scale. Buildings were built between the 17th and 18th centuries. The square is rectangular. Standing at the entrance, you can basically see the layout and full view of the entire square. The palace and its museums, the temple of the goddess Talezhu, etc. occupy the entire eastern part of the square. The western part of the square is densely packed with different temples, arranged in an irregular manner. There are mainly 16 temples and courtyards, 7 pillars and open-air statues, the most famous of which are the Black Tenjin Temple, Black Tian Temple, Harisanka Temple, Vishnu Temple, Piswanat Temple, etc. The Golden Temple is at the end of the square, on the north side of the palace.

The Patan Museum is a place worth visiting in Patan. The tickets are very cheap, but the cultural relics unearthed inside are overwhelmed. The museum is divided into four floors, but when I went there, only three floors were opened in the renovation, each floor was a wooden structure, exquisite and orderly. The artifacts inside record the history of the rise and fall of Patan and Nepal and the wisdom of the people.

The museum in the ancient city of Patan is very exquisite, not big, there are not many tourists, the restaurant opened inside is very good, a good place to rest when you are tired!
