If you like archaeological sites this is a great stop. Easy to see, there are two giant ancient Hawaiian structures in excellent condition.

This is a lovely visitor's center for the Heiau PLUS it is the starting point for the KING'S TRAIL, a hiking trail that you can take all the way to Hawi! Ask for a map or directions in the visitor's center and take lots of water! You'll need it!

This is an interesting little state park with a great historical story to tell. Park rangers are very informative, there are short movies to watch and then of course, there's a massive heiau to see. The bay below is also a known shark hang-out, and in whale season there are lots of humpback sightings, fun to see.

The visitor center is a good place to start for this historic site. Talk to one of the guides and they can give you abundance of information on Hawaiian history. Then take your time and wander around the massive heiau outside.
