For those in marginally fair physical shape, a walk down the fire road that begins at the top of 160-acre Runyon Canyon Park (using the northern entrance off the 7300 block of Mulholland Drive) offers an impressive view of the Los Angeles Basin ranging from the Hollywood Sign to downtown, to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Santa Monica. It will also take you to within a few blocks of Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Roosevelt Hotel. The walk back won't be as bad as it looks. Eavesdropping on and watching the many other walkers (and a few joggers), including an occasional celebrity and wannabe, will serve as welcome distractions in this dog friendly park. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin fame told the L.A. Times that "Hiking Runyon Canyon is an L.A. must-do...the people-watching is great - people and their dogs."

We decided to hike in Rooney Canyon, so headed to N Fuller Street it was Tuesday, so parking on one side of the street was prohibited because the street was being cleaned, but after a short wait, we were lucky to park on the other side. We started Route E, got through the inspiration point then reached the top and finally got back to Fire F. The view was spectacular and needed a lot of climbing. We both drank 3 litres of water (and a poor thirsty dog, haha), so bring more water.

A very magical geographical feature, the construction area of the canyon park is also quite large, there are many tourists who come back here, and you can see a lot of natural resources and some very distinctive features in the canyon park.

We passed by this park by chance and were not ready to go in, but we still felt like a quick tour. We climbed to the top of the mountain and reached the highest point of the canyon to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Los Angeles, and we could see the canyon and Hollywood signs. Great park, will come again next time.

This park is not for hiking, but for viewing! By the way, look at the dogs trained here! There are many people, including models, ready models, top trainers and tourists from all over the world. It has a good view. You can see Hollywood signs, the Pacific Ocean, Los Angeles City, and more on sunny days. We're here again for Hollywood's signature wilderness. If we have good speed control, we can have a good time. It's fun here. It's unbelievable. I've lived in Lalaland for 20 years and I'm only here now. It's really worth it. I'll come here again to watch the sunset!
