Spain, Barcelona... The Hall of Family is the legacy of Anthony Gaudi (1852-1926), the great Spanish architect. In 1883, Gaudi officially took over until 43 years later, when he died in a car accident, he was busy building the Sacred Family Hall. There were some Catholics who were dissatisfied with the decadence of our society. They planned to build an atonement church for the believers to come here and pray for forgiveness for the guilty. This is the origin of the Church of Saint Family. After Gaudi's death, he left behind a lot of materials, designs and models, but most of them were destroyed by anarchists during the Spanish Civil War, and the project stopped until 1952. At present, nearly 60 [%] of the building has been completed. The main economic sources are social donations and ticket revenue. The official estimate for completion is 2026. From Gaudi's design of such a complex and extremely difficult building, it is not difficult to see that he himself has a high degree of devotion and respect for religious beliefs. After taking over the construction of the Saint Family Atonement Hall, Gaudi devoted all his efforts to it and did not design any other buildings. For Gaudi, the Holy Family Atonement Hall is not only a house built for God, but also a book that every visitor can read - The Doctrine Question and Answer Manual. The scenes in the Bible are shown as pictures in the whole building. The facade of the building is undoubtedly the best stage to reflect these religious scenes. There are three grand facades in the church: birth, death and glory. The theme of each facade represents one aspect of Jesus'priesthood: as a man on earth, as the Savior of mankind, as a judge of life and death on the final judgment day. At the time of Gaudi's death, the Oriental expression of Jesus as the birth facade of the Earth was basically completed. The walls were covered with extremely elaborate decorations and sculptures, mostly with the characters and scenes in the Bible as subjects, showing incomparable superb architectural skills.

It is magnificent! Definitely worth paying to go inside La Sagrada Familia! What you can see from the outside, while quite wonderful, is a fraction of what you will see on the inside. The Sagrada Familia interior is really where Gaudí shows his mastery in architecture, not just decorative designs.

Visited in August and it was so beautiful! It was very busy and a bit hectic running around in the hot weather after 3 small kids but they absolutely loved it!The park opposite gave a good fun break for the kids with amazing views for us 😍Vendors in the area are much more expensive than going further down the road but there was plenty of water fountains around for a drink

This was so amazing!!!!! The Sagrada Familia is so visually arresting. Although there were a lot of people, it still felt so serene and peaceful inside the church itself. This is one of the most fascinating places to visit in Barcelona. It is right smack in the center of everything I feel everything in Barcelona emanates from this point. The brilliance of Gaudi cannot be encapsulated in words.

It is worth going, both the appearance and the interior are exquisite. It is also especially recommended to the St. Paul Hospital not far away, which can take the whole picture of the Sagrada Familia. There are no tops, and there are more people in line. There are also more souvenirs.

Sagrada Família, the iconic basilica in Barcelona, Spain, is a masterpiece of architectural genius and spiritual expression. Designed by the renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, this awe-inspiring structure has become synonymous with Barcelona's skyline and is a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage.Stepping into the Sagrada Família is like entering another world—a world where light, color, and symbolism intertwine to create an atmosphere of profound spirituality and wonder. As you approach the basilica, the first thing that strikes you is its sheer size and intricate façade. Towering spires reach towards the heavens, adorned with intricate sculptures depicting scenes from the Bible and symbols of Christian faith.Upon entering the basilica, we are greeted by a breathtaking interior bathed in an ethereal glow. The vastness of the space, coupled with the intricate details of the architecture, is overwhelming in its beauty. Gaudí's innovative use of natural light creates a sense of transcendence, as sunlight filters through stained glass windows, casting a kaleidoscope of colors onto the stone pillars and floors. One of the most striking features of the Sagrada Família is its forest-like interior, with towering columns resembling the trunks of trees reaching upwards to support the soaring ceilings. The organic shapes and forms of the architecture evoke a sense of harmony with nature, reflecting Gaudí's belief in the spiritual significance of the natural world.Every detail of the Sagrada Família is imbued with symbolic meaning, from the intricate carvings adorning the façade to the geometric patterns of the stained glass windows. Each element tells a story, inviting us to contemplate the mysteries of faith and existence.
