Dafa Temple in Shenyang, also known as Bawang Temple, was founded in 1415 (13 years of Yongle in Ming Dynasty) and rebuilt in 1638 (3 years of Chongde in Qing Dynasty). Because it was the twelfth son of Nurhachi, Prince Ajig, who built the temple with silver handouts, the monks of Dafa Temple built the Eight Kings Temple on the left side of the temple in order to thank him for his kindness. From then on, it became the home Temple of Ajig, commonly known as the Eight Kings Temple.
